How to send an international fax online

Start with the destination country

FaxOnWeb currently supports the 19 destinations shown in the checkout country selector. Brazil supports up to 5 pages and China up to 3 pages at the current public price. The selector supplies the international dialing code used to normalize the number. Choose the intended destination, then verify the complete international number because countries that share a dialing code still require you to check the area code and recipient line.

From your document to delivery confirmation

Prepare your document and destination

Upload readable PDF, DOC, DOCX or supported image files, up to 50 MB combined per fax. Put attachments in order and include a cover sheet in the page count if you use one. Then choose the recipient country from the 19 destinations currently listed in checkout and check its current availability before authorizing payment.

Enter the recipient's fax number

Use the recipient country's code, not your own. Check the area code and actual fax line, especially for countries such as the US and Canada that share +1. Follow the country-specific examples below for any leading 0; do not remove digits without checking the destination's format.

Authorize payment and follow the result

Pricing is USD 2.89 for up to 5 pages, then USD 0.39 per additional page; destination-specific page limits apply. Review the country, fax number, pages and total price before approving PayPal. After submission, keep the status page available until delivery is confirmed or a final failure is reported. Provider acceptance is not proof of delivery; the payment is captured after confirmed delivery. If the fax fails, follow the displayed retry or payment-release instructions.

International fax number examples

Use these country-specific rules as a formatting guide. The digits after the area code still need to be the recipient's actual fax number.

1. United States: select United States and use +1 followed by the area code and subscriber number. Send fax to United States
2. Canada: select Canada and use +1 followed by the area code and subscriber number. Canada and the United States share +1, so verify the area code and actual recipient fax line; the country selection alone does not distinguish them. Send fax to Canada
3. United Kingdom: use +44 and omit the domestic trunk 0; for example, a number beginning 020 becomes +44 20 followed by the remaining digits. Send fax to United Kingdom
4. Germany: use +49 and omit the leading 0 from the area code; for example, 030 becomes +49 30.
5. Japan: use +81 and omit the leading 0 from the area code; for example, 03 becomes +81 3. Send a fax to Japan
6. France: use +33 and omit the leading 0 from the domestic number; for example, 01 becomes +33 1.
7. Australia: use +61 and omit the domestic trunk 0; for example, 02 becomes +61 2. Send fax to Australia

FaxOnWeb is an outbound-only fax service. It does not issue receiving or virtual fax numbers and does not provide inbound fax, email-to-fax, or broadcast fax features.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many international destinations does FaxOnWeb support?

The checkout country selector currently lists 19 supported destinations. Use that selector as the current source of truth before preparing the number.

Why must I choose between the United States and Canada if both use +1?

Both countries belong to the +1 numbering plan. Choosing the intended destination sets +1, but the selection alone does not distinguish the country or perform country-specific validation. Verify the area code and recipient fax number before paying.

Can I receive an international fax with FaxOnWeb?

No. FaxOnWeb only sends outbound faxes and does not provide a receiving number, virtual fax number, email-to-fax, or fax broadcasting.
